Information

A class of up to 40 individuals will be appointed to participate each year. Selection is based on information completed on an application. Confidential application packets will be mailed to all who are nominated or request an application. Since the number of appointments is limited, applicants who are not selected are encouraged to reapply in subsequent years.

Applicants must have the full support of the organization or corporation they represent. The dates of the programs are listed in the LEADERSHIP MAHONING VALLEY brochure included in the application packet. FULL ATTENDANCE AT RETREATS AND ALL MONTHLY SESSIONS IS REQUIRED. Those who fail to meet attendance requirements will be asked to withdraw without refund of tuition.

The tuition is $2,000 per participant. Partial tuition assistance, based on need, is available on a limited basis to community/public sector applicants.

Criteria

Participation in LEADERSHIP MAHONING VALLEY is open to recognized or emerging leaders with demonstrated commitment to community service. The program seeks men and women who have attained leadership positions in their field and who are likely to be tapped for greater community responsibility. Every effort is made to ensure that those selected will represent the diversity of the Mahoning Valley.

Participants will be chosen by the Selection Committee of the LEADERSHIP MAHONING VALLEY board based on the information completed on an application. The committee seeks representation from a cross section of the community - labor, business, education, government, community service, the arts, the professions, health care, religion, and ethnic and minority groups.

LEADERSHIP MAHONING VALLEY encourages nominations of individuals who are recognized or emerging leaders in all sectors of the community and who have demonstrated a commitment to community service. The organization seeks men and women who have attained leadership positions in their fields and who are likely to be tapped for greater community responsibility. Every effort is made to ensure that those selected for LEADERSHIP participation will reflect the diversity of the Valley.

A confidential application for selection will be sent to each nominee to obtain the information necessary for a decision by a selection committee of LEADERSHIP MAHONING VALLEY Board members.
